Y Pre-celebration for Li'e's 20th Birthday!
heh! today was a pre-celebration for my smelliest da bian bestie, li'e's, 20th birthday! this woman is finally turning 20, and *coughs* it's gonna be my turn 3 months later. hoho! =) anyway, here's a lengthy and picturelicious entry about the celebration. =D
wells, to make it up for her 19th birthday (which we couldn't celebrate for her because she ain't in SG) as well, i put in extra efforts in preparing her stuffs this time round. it took me a few days to prepare the materials and 3 hours to do up this slightly bigger than A3 and smaller than A2 montage frame. i'm so proud of my artpiece afterall! heh. =P

other than that, i walked from orchard all the way to dhoby ghaut in search of her birthday present, which i wanna get the polka dots bag which she eyed for eons ago. but to no avail. in the end, i bought this white clutch which she touched and said it's pretty before. da bian, ain't i observant enough? wahaha!

AND, that's not all. with lye hong chipping in, i went to customise and order a birthday cake for her at the confectionary near my place last night. i chose the most girly, chocolatey and creamy one for her. hahaha, the cake was so li'e-ish lah!

'nuff said about the surprises. i had to carry them all the way from yishun to prinsep. i admit that was such a chore, and i had the urge to cab there. but i hadn't wanna splurge this way, so yay, i tried my best to ignore all the weird glances people gave and took 857 there. hahahaha!
oh yay, i've made reservation for 4 at 7pm at The Mind Cafe. it was my 2nd time there. during my first, it was pleasant enough to patronise again, so i introduce the place to them. and the credits of cause goes to ah dong! hahaha! it's really a great chill-out place, and i'm seriously considering of signing up the membership during my next trip. probably soon, since we're entitled to free 2 hours boardgaming next time round. tsk! =P
right, side tracked a little. anyhow, i got there earlier than the rest as i need to put the cake and my presents with the waitress. (note: that waitress is so nice!) went outside to wait for li'e, scott and lye hong. it was nice seeing scott again. =) if i'm not wrong, the last time we met was eons ago? during our triple date? i guess so. right, that isn't important.
we got ourselves a really comfortable sofa seat. the exact same spot i was at with the rest during kengey's birthday. haha! we got settled and ordered our meal. this time round we tried out the boardgame package for 4pax, which i think it's rather worthwhile. =)
i went to get some games to try out. the first game we played was Intrigue, which we found we're not that intrigued by the game afterall. hahaha! and so we paused our games and tucked in. look at our messy table. lol.
we continued with our boardgames aftermath. i introduced them Snorta! which i played with my friends the other time round. the animal game, remember? haha! it's great to see all of us loosen up and started "meow-ing", "brr-ing", "meh-ing" and "oink-ing". hahaha, it was as hilarious as the first time i played. =)
we tried many other games as well. even the fruits salad game too. and guess what's the game of the day which made ALL of us burst into huge fits of laughter? haha! totally dig this game. as it reveals all our artist cells in us. err, i guess not. HAHAHA!
Luck of the Draw
each player was given a pad of papers, a pencil and a voting wheel. i won't go into the details, but it's pretty much like some artistic academy awards thingy. we'll roll the die and pick out the theme as of what to draw within 30secs, then we gotta vote without first revealing who drew which. there's all kinds of awards available. cutest, strangest, crappiest, neatest, etc etc. there's many crappy awards! the fun part of this game is to see all our rubbish pictures. hahahaha! i seriously can't draw! let's check out some of our artpieces. go figure out who drew which yourselves. it's not that difficult to tell. and i swear they were all thrash! LOL.

lol. and then, i told the rest i'm heading to the ladies, which i'm actually off to collect the cake and present. the nice waitress (aiya, should have asked for her name or something) helped me with the preparations. i had li'e and scott seated with their backs facing the counter right from the start, which i must say was a good choice. when i brought the cake near to our table, i signalled to lye hong to start singing a birthday song. i loved to see li'e's surprised face! hahaha. i bet she must have wondered why had i turned up empty handed in the first place. woohahaha! =D

we then left at about 10.30pm after playing the fruits salad game. li'e and i emerged to be the final winners, with our hands all red and bruised. hahaha! i really gotta thank scott for the treat, and it had been nice hanging out with my bestie's boyfriend. at least this time round the atmosphere wasn't as awkward as the first time round. it's much easier to strike conversation with him now. may he have the smoothest journey back to the states tomorrow. =) haha!
and since now it's past 12am, i'd like to wish li'e a happiest 20th birthday. i hope you'll like what we've prepared for you. well, i wish you will be as young as your faith, as old as your doubts, as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fears, as young as your hopes and as old as your despair. may there be abundant joy for you and your loved ones. happy birthday, girl. =)
