Y Graduation 2007

it felt real good to be back in the campus, which i used to dread going every morning. together with my girlies, we changed into our graduation attire before reporting to the LT for the briefing. all of us were seated according to our surnames, and fortunately, i sat in between people i know - jason and pei wen. haha!
VIPS, lecturers, guests, and us, graduands were seated in the convention hall before the ceremony commenced at 9am. ICT director, angela wee, gave a opening speech, before the real thing began.
my IHP friend, pei wen. i think i looked funny here, because.. HAHAHAHA! :x
when it was my turn to go up to the stage, i had this strong urge to pee! hahaha. and i kept complaining that to jason and pei wen. well, the robe seems to be giving me so much problem, especially when i'm getting up the stairs. irritating! haha.
we followed closely to the procedures. i was so afraid that the announcer will pronounce my surname wrongly, but thank god he didn't! heehee. our director, angela wee, gave me my scroll, and congratulated me, but i can't remember if i've said 'thank you'! hahahaha. too excited already. :x
i can't wait to receive my photograph, which i've paid 5bucks for, from the school! :D
know what? 2007 ICT top graduate is none other than our dear Yi Peng with a wonderful GPA of 3.94 and 31 distinctions!!! all of us feel so proud of him, because he's our classmate. hahaha! he even represented the whole cohort to deliver a speech. and man, he actually mentioned 'class chalets and night cycling'! awwww. :)
i only remembered to take a video of his speech when he's already in the middle of his speech!
there was a tea reception after the ceremony. li'e and i went to look for our parents together, as her mom and sis, and my folks hanged out together throughout the whole thing. heehee. :) well, the convention was very crowded aftermath, but that didn't deter us frm taking pictures! :D

anyway. after the ceremony, we went to return our attires, before waiting for han de to come back to school. wei liang and jason went off first. at about 1pm, jason came back to pick han de us, whereas li'e, froggie, lye hong and i took a bus to town to meet with the rest. oh ya! jason got his bike licence already! after 4 attempts. haha, oops. well, we made him bring us around the campus in his 'xiao huang'! so niceeee. so shiok.
haha!
well, went to meet up with wei liang, martin and the rest at Cineleisure aftermath. we sat in LJS for hours talking. wei liang and i were exchanging our sob stories. right, not sob stories, more like granite. we were both angry people. we actually talked for 1hour with some commercial breaks from jason and han de in between. haha!
received ah dong's sms, and he was nearby so he came to join my classmates and i. had wanted to go Kbox, but because han de has to book in in the evening, so we opted for a movie instead.
fantastic 4 - rise of the silver surfer! been waiting for this for so long, and man, it rocks! 4.5/5 for this! chris evans is SO CUTE! hahahaha. totally worth my bucks. go catch it, peeps! :D
han de and jason left after the movie. so the rest of us went for dinner, followed by a few pool sessions at KPool aftermath. haha. :)
it's been a great great day. can't wait to meet up with you guys again soon - our 3rd anniversary. :)

Y Ngee Ann ICT Prom 2007
attended my school's prom last night, and the night was awesome! and i ended up reaching home only at 4am in the morning. it has been a great great great night. (note: i said, night) :)
haha, well, it all started when i began prepping for the night at home in the afternoon. i spent hours getting ready and stuffs. hahaha, girls mah! =)
make-up half way. i think i really like Shisedo's products. hee. and i was just tryin' to be funny. :x

the girls and i had planned to have our hair done at Highest at Far East Plaza at 4pm. i was all dressed before leaving house at 3ish. it was raining heavily then. and something real bad happened, which i believe i'll never ever forget about for a long time. i wanted to take the train to town, and i was already on the platform when i realised there's some issue going on over at Admiralty, hence the train was delayed for a good'ol 50 minutes!!! i had thought it was another jump-case for sure, but was later told that it's some lady who fainted in the train, or something. i don't know. okay, and so i decided to get out to flag a cab down. i've no brolley with me, so i can't cross over (which is towards to expressway) to get a cab. decided to do so at the taxi stand instead, which the cab will have to u-turn at the junction. BUT! know what? i waited for 1 and half hour, and no cabs wanna take me! and do you know why? because most of them are either changing shifts at yishun and woodlands, so nobody wanna take me! AND, there were some aunties over there waiting for a cab as well, and they were snatching cabs with people in front of the queue, LIKE ME!
can you imagine my frustration then? i almost exploded with anger.
and guess what? in the end, i caught the delayed-for-50-minutes train to town instead! got to the saloon to meet the gals at only 5ish! phew.

'nuff said about the frustrating matter, because after that, everything went so well. got my hair done by the hairstylist for 35 bucks. i had wanted something simpler, but i think the hairstylist got my message wrongly and did plaids for me. fortunately, it looks... nice. haha.

lee hong, froggie, yun, li'e, lye hong and i hopped on to 2 cabs to get ourselves to Orchard Hotel at 6ish afermath. although the hotel is within walking distance, but yay, we don't wanna risk having our beautiful hairdo getting all messed up. :) li'e, lye hong and i shared one cab. :)
we entered the hotel lobby and saw so many ICTians already there. searched for the guys, and we began mingling around and taking pictures before heading to the 3rd floor where the ballroom was, to register. :)

there were some pre-dinner entertainment hotspots at the foyer outside the ballroom. tarot cards reading, glamour studio to have individual photoshoot and caricaturist to have a cartoon portrait drawn by a professional in 5minutes. i only had the individual photoshoot by a company, picture me. it's complimentary. so i thought, why not? the guy made me pose for about 7 times. haha, and i collected 1 of the photos after dinner, which wasn't that bad.
we entered the ballroom and found our table - table 8. the ballroom looks small after being partitioned. being an ex banquet waitresses, the things we usually will keep a look out is the managers, captains, waiter/waitresses, presentation, service, and the food. haha! there's this captain or manager who looked SO much like wilson! everyone who knows wilson agreed with me, and his name is renny! lol. ohwells.
took some pictures with the guys before dinner commenced at 8ish. =) and dammit! the guys were like teasing my height all the way! despite wearing my heels, i wasn't let off from the teasing at all. lol. look at some of them in the pictures, how they accomodate my height. =(

well, edward malcolm was the host this year. he came across as kinda lame to us, albeit entertaining. the prom event started proper after getting everyone to settle down. angela wee, our director, gave a really short and sweet speech. and the dinner was alright, in general. there were some games played as well. overall, the prom entertainment on stage were pretty alright. i think the prom committee did a really good job. :)
i think my attention was diverted from the stage quite a number of times. by my phone and the camera! lol. :)

anyway, we had 18 lucky draw prizes. all of us were hoping to win the top 3 prizes - ipod nano, LCD monitor screen and a laptop (i forgot it's brand, either IBM or Apple)! guess what? SIM WEI LIANG WON THE FIRST PRIZE! the laptop! the thing is, he left the dinner early to meet his girlfriend, and passed his lucky draw ticket to han de and martin! dammit, how lucky can this fella get!? lol.
after the lucky draw, it was the crowning of Ms Fergalicious (Xiangxiang) and Mr Sexyback (Lionel) and the finale of the night. there was this slideshow of pictures of the graduating classes, and the background music were Graduation (Friends Forever) and That's Why You Go Away. i think the committee did a splendid job on the slideshow. they managed to get hold of so many pictures of my class. zhe bin's 21st birthday during year 1, sheena's 18th birthday during year 2, our class steamboat and chalet pictures during year 2, our class 2nd anniversary photos all clad in our class jerseys, etc! we were taken aback, and wondered how they got hold of these pictures. some of us had suspected that Junior (one of the committee) took it from our friendster, but hell no! i just found out that it was li'e who sent them to Yongjia! lolol. we were really surprised. ;) and the slideshow did made some of us teared. being the gentleman, martin offered all of us his broad shoulder. hahaha! damn cute.
after the slideshow, the entire ballroom went into chaos! we were doing some group dancing and the merry-go-round the ballroom! damn fun! but, my toe was injured 'cause of martin's shoes! hahahaha. alright, we stayed on a lil while longer before we decided to leave to meet wei liang, who was on the way to pick us girls in a cab and head to Clarke Quay together. martin and the rest took another cab. those who went were wei liang, martin, jason, han de, jian wen, lye hong, froggie and me.
in the cab, none of us uttered a word about wei liang winning the laptop. LOL! the guys had wanna surprise him later. and so we were gathered at the bus stop near MOS aftermath. oh yea, bumped into terence over there who had his prom at Merchant Court. haha. right. anyway, here's the prize presentation!

we opened this right at the bus stop! lol. i think it's IBM. and i heard the specs weren't that good. worse than toshiba m30 man! but wells, at least wei liang won something that's worth all our prom tickets price! lol.
a 'wet' kiss for jian wen, who helped to pick the lucky draw lot for wei liang. LOL!
left the bus stop, and we were thinking which pub/club to go to for our post-prom party. i was sms-ing with the SO then, and he was somewhere nearby with his friends. SO told me they're at The Clinic, and just nice we had that place in our mind. hence, we made our way to The Clinic, but we did not go in afterall. because it's gonna be wei liang's treat, and we don't wanna him to spend a bomb. the entrance fees were, males - $35 and females - $20. we had 5 males and 3 females. haha! in the end, i called the SO and told him about it. he was stucked at level 2, so didn't manage to come out to meet me until very much later. :)
martin went to check out the other pubs, and in the end we settled at Kandi Bar, which is just 2 pubs away from The Clinic. the SO called me awhile later, telling me he managed to got outta the club afterall, so we met outside somewhere in between. teehee! had a short chat with him, before we both went back to our respective pubs. and he offered to send me home later on. :) so yay, i went back to join my friends at Kandi Bar, where we had some fun drinking, camwhoring and shouting! lol. :)

at about 3ish, we wanted to walk outta Clarke Quay to sit somewhere quiet to chit chat. we were already outside Brewerkz that area, when the SO told me he's waiting for me at Liang Court already. hence, being the great bunch of friends, everyone walked me all the way back to where we came to meet the SO. haha! when i got there, SO's car was parked at the side with the hazzard lights on waiting for me. all my friends wanted to see him, and i told SO to come out, but he was too shy so he didn't came out afterall. haha, next time perhaps. :)
SO's car was a mitsubishi lancer. really spacious and the interior smells really nice, as it took away the smoke smell we both had from the pubs. haha! well, i really love my class guys! they simply rocks, and we can really sit back, relax and enjoy with them around. they took really good care of the girls everytime. ahhh. ;)
and so, SO sent me back and i got home at 4am. ohwells, at least i don't have to spend hours on NR1 or spend bucks on cabfares. i really appreciated that. :)
wanna know how my hair looks like after removing the plaids? lol.

i've been hearing lots of relationship woes from my friends, and this made me wonder. are all relationship that fragile? how do one build a perfect relationship with no rocks or stone coming the way? how to keep a relationship sweet forever, and not turning bland after years? why do all good things have to come to an end? :/
ohwells. some fears take time to overcome. will history repeat again? i don't wish to. i don't want to. sigh.
