Y a year.
'tho i'm uber tired and sleepy right now, but because of my wet hair, i decided to update my blog before my hair is dry. zzz.
friday o7/o4 :
after enrolling for my IS modules, i got ready and went to take 852 to bukit batok to meet froggie and lee hong for our long awaited curry fish head lunch. hot curry soup, tender fish meat, spicy kang kong, yummy spare ribs and not forgetting the hot steaming rice. we had a real fulfilling lunch man! XD and after lunch, froggie went home to change whereas i accompanied lee hong into westmall to walk around, while waiting for froggie to be ready.
at about 3ish, lee hong went home and i took 106, together with froggie, to work. nnp board the same bus at clementi, and we went to work together. on our way to work, we witnessed an accident. while the bus was at a junction somewhere at holland, this truck opposite the junction made a right turn. while doing so, the truck tilt, skid and *BOM!* hit the ground to the left. WE WERE LOOKING AT THE WHOLE PROCESS!! damn scary. before the traffic lights turn green for the bus to move, we saw the driver crawling outta his seat, and he got up with his shirt tore and looked into the car. that made us assumed there's one more passenger in it! omg, our bus left shortly after, and until now i still can't forget the whole scene. i wonder how's the casualties. :/
reached conrad at 4.4opm, and we quickly got changed before reporting to mery at 5pm. she then told us to go canteen and rot till 5.30pm before coming up. we weren't the only ones, so i guess ballroom is almost fully set-up. when we went into the ballroom at 5.30pm, the whole room was already done up. it was the NAFA 68th founders' night. some sort of dinner and dance. ramesh did the briefing, and i was assigned to be VIP with lulu.
it's some really simple 8course chinese dinner. for VIP, it's individual portioning for most courses, thus it's pretty straightforward. zhi ling was in-charge of the backlane, thus he's assigned to be like a "runner" for us. for the entire night, he practically carried in all our oval trays. working with lulu was okay nowadays, because we often chit-chat and tried to eat snake once in awhile. haha!
after all the courses were done, we started clearing whatever that we can then half of the staffs were sent back. ramesh got a handful of us to OT, and i was one of them. while clearing, the guests were dancing on the dancefloor. their songs were all oldies lah. and they danced so kuku-ish. haha! by 12ish, then they began leaving. steven was in charge of the turnover. helped to set up for next day's wedding buffet lunch for half of the ballroom with lulu, zul and hans. did many things until 1ish, changed the signage and then we were signed off at 2am. took the 2.30am transport home, bathed and turned in immediately. DEAD BEAT CAN!!!! zzz.
saturday o8/o4 :
woke up at 9am feeling really really extremely tired. ZZZ!
however, i went to work still and met up with nnp at 11ish. changed, ate before going to the ballroom to report. jovin assigned us assignments. there were really very few staffs, thus i was to take care 2 tables by myself whereas most of them were 2-to-4tables. it's buffet, so pretty simple. helped to do many lame stuffs, then ushered at the stairs which i kept wanna yawn, before the door opens at 2ish.
because of the lack of staffs, i had to do dry ice too. DALLAND IS A PIG!!! dammit loh. all of us listened to jovin's briefing earlier on, saying our dry ice party will work as a chain. in other words, the cue to pour our ice into the hot water was when you see the one in front of the chain pour theirs, you will pour yours. that's what the aisle people did, and we got scolded "PIG" by dalland! come on loh, we followed instructions TOO! damn you. nnp was really pissed that she told jovin about it, and i think somehow jovin sided us? i think. ah, nevermind. dalland's a small pea anyway.
the buffet lunch was really straightforward. all i did was clear and carry in oval trays, but i overestimated myself and overstacked my items on my tray. thus, my shoulders are aching after carrying a few in. i think jovin saw my face was all flushed, thus he got another guy who's table has closed to help me settle my 2 tables, whereas i went to backlane to fold double fan napkin for the night's wedding dinner.
the guests left at about 4ish close to 5pm, and we began turning over. nnp and i were given one new staff to set 8 tables at east west. the guy is so damn proud! he's new somemore loh, tho' he worked in panpac's chinese restuarant and their banquet for a few days! he doesn't really listened to what we told him to do, and even attempted to argue with nnp until jovin came and "solve" the problem. ohwells, nevermind. we managed to finish everything after that still. all in all, during the turnover, i almost vomit blood! don't ask me why. i'm so angry. nnp too! argh.
right, when the 6pm staffs came, they helped out. at 6ish, ramesh chose some of the afternoon staffs to go home. nnp and i had to stay of cause. he assigned tables aftermath. lu lu and i were asked to take care VIP again. we settled the tables, before we were released for dinner at 7pm. finally man! i was famished. went to change into the cheong sum before we went back to the ballroom.
door opens at 8ish, but the guests came in slow and late so the dinner started late. it's a 9 course dinner, and we had our 2nd march-in only at 9.13pm (usually at 8ish)! don't know why but at night when lulu and i worked together, we two were like live zombies walking around. we were kinda blur, that steven kept "bth" us. haha! too tired lah. both of us worked till 2am last night and worked at 12pm this afternoon leh. of cause tired lah. i felt tonight's dinner was really long. zzz.
because of time constraints, the courses were fired out real fast! we just served one course down for the guests, samsi was already portioning the next course! damn rush. zZz. while everyone's serving dessert, ramesh got me to help him with the TCC cards. phew, a breather at last. went around to all tables handing the TCC cards to one guest per table, before getting back from them. did clearing aftermath, and occationally went to the back to help lulu pack food.
by 12mn, first batch staffs went home. nnp and i were the only 12pm staffs OT. argh! we OT till 1.30am somemore! steven now owed us 1hour pay. because most of us didn't manage to rush for the 1.30am transport, so we waited for the 2.30am one instead. while waiting, nnp, zhiling, lionel, jamie and i were in the canteen crapping. haha! after which, i took the same cab as jamie and lionel home. i'm so sleepy now. guess i can finally turn in, as my hair's pretty dry now. hurrr.
till then~ won't be working till thursday. boring... zzZ.
today, he's finally back after his long off days. guess it's so because he worked for 14 consecutive days last week. hmm. and he talked to me today! it's about work tho. :/ right..

P/S: it's 9th april now. i've worked in conrad for exactly A YEAR now. lol.
